Parking Lot Closures Due to Maintenance The following parking lots will be closed or partially closed on the dates specified for maintenance. Lot closing signs will be posted at the entrance of the lot 24-48 hours before the scheduled date of maintenance. If weather delays the project a new date will be posted on the Parking and Transit Services website shown below. * June 29 - July 6 - Area 10, Hardin Hall north lot, patch and seal lot. This parking area will be closed. Please park on the west and south sides of Hardin Hall. * July 5 - July 7 - Area 10, Anderson Hall, remove fuel storage tank. The project will use 5 spaces. * July 10 - July 14 - Area 10, Anderson Hall, patch and overlay parking lot. Lot will be closed. New Parking Signs During the next month, new parking signs will be installed throughout City and East Campuses. These signs utilize a new parking lot designation system. Visit the Parking and Transit Services website to view the Parking Permit Use Table. For example, if you have been parking in a faculty/staff non-reserved Area 10 parking lot you will now be parking in lots that are marked Area A. If you have any questions regarding the new parking lot designations contact the Parking and Transit Services Office at 472-1800. http://parking.unl.edu ************************************************************************* 3. UHC Closed Tuesday, July 4 The University Health Center will be closed on Tuesday, July 4. St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center's Telephone Line to Care will be available at (402) 219-8050 if you need medical assistance. Gifts to student scholarship fund honor Griesen's service to UNL Colleagues, students, alumni and friends have established the James V. Griesen Student Leadership Award Fund to recognize and thank James Griesen, who retires July 30 as vice chancellor for student affairs. Chess Legends in Lincoln Russian Grandmaster Miron Sher plays 20 chess games at once, at 6 p.m. Tuesday June 27, in the Nebraska Union. Food Entrepreneur Assistance Program Seminar The Food Processing Center is offering a one-day seminar for all individuals interested in exploring the idea of starting a food manufacturing business. NAFA Regional Workshop 2006 UNL and the Office of Undergraduate Studies will present the 2006 NAFA Regional Workshops on July 20-21 at the Nebraska Union. This conference will focus on new fellowship advisors with information and resources about nationally competitive fellowships. Topics such as how to set up and maintain a scholarship office, how to solicit administrative support, how to identify and work with students, plus other topics will be covered. All Youth Ages 14-18 Invited to National Technology Conference All youth ages 14-18 are invited to attend the 2006 National 4-H Technology Conference, July 24-27, on the UNL City and East Campuses. Youth will select a technology focus area that is incorporated with textiles, biotechnology, remote sensors, robotics, architecture, engineering, crime scene investigation (CSI), animal science, or other area. Support Group for Adult Children with Aging Parents (ACAP) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is facilitating a support group for adult children with aging parents. Nebraska Repertory Theatre Opens Season with Farce The Nebraska Repertory Theatre opens its 39th season July 6 with Ken Ludwig's Leading Ladies, a laugh-a-minute cross-dressing farce by the writer of the popular Lend Me a Tenor. Additional performances rotate with Local Wonders and Omnium Gatherum on July 7, 8, 22, 26, 27, Aug. 4, 5, all at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater. Nebraska High School Rodeo Finals on NET Television There will be plenty of snortin' bulls and buckin' broncs stirring up the dust at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Hastings, Neb., as the top high school rodeo competitors from across the state mount-up and rope, ride and wrangle on the "Nebraska High School Rodeo Championships."
