UHC Offers Additional Flu Shot Clinics The University Health Center (UHC) will hold two additional influenza vaccine clinics from 8 to 10 a.m. Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at the UHC at 15th and U Streets. No appointments are necessary for the walk-in clinics. Flu vaccinations cost $20 and payment via cash or check is required at the time of the vaccination. If you carry Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance, a claim will be filed for you by the UHC for possible reimbursement as long as you bring your insurance card with you. http://www.unl.edu/health/flu ************************************************************************* 2. Blackboard Downtime Dec. 24 to Jan. 1 Blackboard will be unavailable from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. ACE Proposals 1 and 2 Sent to Colleges Proposals 1 and 2 to create a new general education program, Achievement-Centered Education (ACE), were sent by Professor John Janovy, chair of the General Education Advisory Committee, to the undergraduate colleges on Nov. 20. Nominate a teacher for McAuliffe Prize Nominations for the 2007 Christa McAuliffe Prize for Courage and Excellence in Education are being taken now. In addition to the poster displays, alumni representing their employers will also be attending. UNL to Host Information Technology Security Day The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in collaboration with the Information Services Office of the State of Nebraska, will present the third annual Nebraska Information Technology Security Day (NITS Day) on Nov. 30. The event is free and is open to the public, and will be held in the Nebraska Union. Presentations will be made by members of the staffs of the Computer Science and Engineering departments of the University of Nebraska, the Information Services department of UNL and the CIO Office of the State of Nebraska. Students in Security and Cryptography and representatives from industry will also be presenting. The keynote speaker will be Jim Treinen from IBM's Global Services.
