Journalism students at Lee Booksellers this Friday Join Lee Booksellers (5500 S. 56th St.) at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 for a student-panel discussion of select stories from "Renovating the Republic," a news magazine produced by the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. For the past year, a group of journalism students examined two events - 9/11 and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall on 9/11/1989 - that cast light on the complex relationship Germany has had with the United States, and in particular, the Cornhusker state. Fulldome shows continue at Mueller Planetarium through end of '07 Fulldome shows using the new immersive digital projection format at the Mueller Planetarium (inside Morrill Hall 14th and U St) will continue on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of the year. "Secret of the Cardboard Rocket," a fun family-friendly show about two children who take off in an imaginary rocket to explore the solar system, will play at 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Sunday at Sheldon: New Acquisition - Barcelona White Bar Sheldon Director Jan Driesbach speaks about Barcelona White Bar, a recent acquisition by artist Sean Scully, at 2 p.m. Setp. 9. Immediately after its purchase, this significant new addition to the Sheldon collection traveled with a retrospective exhibition of the artist's work to Fort Worth, Cincinnati and New York.
