 2. Archive Your Blackboard Courses by Oct. 21

On Oct. 21, Information Services will delete all Blackboard courses created
before the Fall 2004 term. To keep a copy of the content of your courses prior
to Fall 2004, you must create archives of your courses. Click the link to
download detailed information and instructions. If you have technical
questions about this process, contact the Help Desk at 472-3970 (or if 'you're

 4. State Museum's Research Collections host Open House for UNL

The Friends of the University of Nebraska State Museum and the Museum's
Research Staff invite the UNL community to attend a special Open House and
Behind the Scenes Tour of the Museum Research Collections from 7:30 to 9:30

 5. Scholastic Book fair Oct. 1-5

Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory will host its annual Scholastic
Book Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1-5 in the vending area of Henzlik
Hall. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Proceeds will be used
to purchase books for the Child Development Laboratory.

 6. Office of Research - Faculty Forum - Request for Proposals

The Office of Research will hold a Faculty Forum to discuss projects
for three internal competitions currently available. The forum is
designed for discussion of potential projects with the Vice Chancellor

Paul Wesselmann, creator of Stone Soup Seminars, will be the featured

11. William Cronon to give Research and Region Lecture

William Cronon will present "The Portage: How to Read a Landscape," at
7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Nebraska Union auditorium. Cronon is the
Frederick Jackson Turner and Vilas Research Professor of History,
Geography, and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
and the author of "Uncommon Ground: Rethinking the Human Place in Nature"

"Exploring the Regulation of Gene Expression in Eukaryotes," will be

13. SNR Seminar Sept. 26

"Using Stable Isotopes to Evaluate Animal Movements and Site Fidelity,"
will be presented at 3 p.m. Sept 26 in Hardin Hall Auditorium by Dr. Larkin
Powell. Biologists use a variety of tools to determine animal movements. The
recent application of stable isotope techniques to this field of ecology has
revealed interesting patterns of movements, previously not available through
other research methods. Dr. Powell will show examples of recent work with stable
isotopes, including applications for research on grassland songbirds, waterfowl,
and mountain lions.

to raise awareness about relationship violence and related mental health

A Sheldon gallery will be formally named in honor of the Woods family at a
