Special Big Red Wrap-Up on NET Television ************************************************************************* 1. Annual Steam Outages Planning for the Annual Steam Outages has begun. The centralized steam distribution system must be shut down to conduct required maintenance of equipment, including replacing and upgrading many key components of the University's Utility system. The outages will occur on the following dates depending upon an average weekly high temperature of 60 degrees or more. City Campus only from May 11-17. East Campus from May 18-24. During the Steam Outages, there will be no heating and no process steam available in those building systems served by campus steam. May 7 tornado systems test cancelled The tornado systems test scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, is cancelled due to Finals Week. ************************************************************************* 3. Parking and Traffic Congestion May 7-10 Students will be moving out of residence halls May 7-10, with the heaviest movement on Thursday and Friday. Watch for barricades, closed traffic lanes and parking cadets providing traffic control around the residence halls, including 14th Street, west of the Harper/Schramm/Smith/Village complex and 16th, 17th and Vine Streets between "R" and Vine. ************************************************************************* 4. UNL Confucius Institute offers Chinese Summer Course Options Summer Chinese Language and Martial Arts Classes will be offered from June 16-27 on Mondays and Fridays with the choice of a morning or afternoon session.
