 1. Severe Weather Awareness Week is Approaching
UNL will join Lincoln/Lancaster County Emergency Management in testing all
tornado-warning systems at 10:15 a.m. April 9. UNL's tornado warning
system is generally tested the first Wednesday of every month. For April only,
this test will occur during the second week in conjunction with Severe Weather
Awareness Week. To order new tornado posters for buildings, contact Colleen
Huls via email at chuls1@unl.edu. When ordering posters, provide the building
name and the number of posters needing printed for that building. The official

 7. Parking Permit Preorder for 2008-2009
Beginning April 14, faculty and staff can preorder parking permits on-line
for next fall. You are required to have your NU ID number, found on your
NCard, to order your permit. You will need to have current vehicle information
(license plate, state, color, make, model, and year) for those vehicles you
plan to have on-campus at the time you order. To renew on-line go to the
Web site listed below and click the "Parking Account" button. Beginning
June 1 over-the-counter renewals begin at 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A.
On-line preorders made before Aug. 1 will be mailed to faculty and staff
offices within 10 days of ordering. Stow next fall's permit in a safe place
and do not display until Aug. 18.

15. Advanced Scholars: The University Experience April 16
High School students and their parents are invited to attend "Advanced
Scholars: The University Experience" from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. April 16
at the UNL campus. This free campus event is a great way for students,
parents, counselors and school administration to learn more about the
Advanced Scholars Program and how students can begin taking online UNL
courses while still in high school, at a reduced tuition rate of $100
per credit hour for Nebraska residents and $169.50 per credit hour for
non-residents. Participants will view course demos, visit with UNL faculty,
