 3. Limited Submission - Burroughs Wellcome Fund
Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (Bridging Support for
Physical/Computational Scientists Entering Biology). The deadline
is April 15. Provides support up to two years of advanced postdoctoral
training and the first three years of a faculty appointment. An
institution may nominate up to two candidates for the award.
Institutions that nominate a female candidate will be allowed three
nominations. Institutions may have a single additional nomination if
they nominate an African American, Hispanic or Native American candidate.
No more than one nominee may be a temporary resident of the United States.
If you are interested in being nominated, complete a Notification of

 8. Thompson Forum's Harris Lecture features Amory Lovins
Physicist Amory Lovins, cofounder, chairman and chief scientist of the
Rocky Mountain Institute, will deliver "Winning the Oil Endgame," this
year's Lewis E. Harris Lecture on Public Policy. Lovins' work has been
recognized by a MacArthur Fellowship and a Time magazine "Hero for the
Planet" award among many others. The lecture will take place at 7 p.m.
Feb. 12 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The lecture is free and
open to the public; tickets are required and still available. For

 9. Steward to Give Thompson Forum Pre-talk
W. Cecil Steward, dean emeritus of the UNL College of Architecture and
president and CEO of the Joslyn Castle Institute for Sustainable Communities,

the Oil Endgame." The pre-talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the

25. Big Red Wrap-Up Special on Husker Recruits Airs on NET Television
Jeremy Crabtree, national recruiting analyst for Rivals.com, and
HuskersIllustrated's Sean Callahan will join co-hosts Kevin Kugler and
Adrian Fiala for a special "Big Red Wrap-Up" analyzing the newest batch
of Huskers to sign their letters of intent to join the Nebraska
football team. It airs at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 on NET1 Channel 12.
