The Visitor and Young at Heart opening Friday at the Ross * The Visitor (June 6-19): A lonesome widower and college economics professor finds his mundane existence suddenly shaken up when he befriends a pair of illegal immigrants, one of whom has recently been threatened with deportation by U.S. immigration authorities, in the sophomore feature from The Station Agent director Tom McCarthy. * Young at Heart (June 6-19): Documents the true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for the Young at Heart Chorus in Northampton, Mass., whose average age is 81, and many of whom must overcome health adversities to participate. Their music is unexpected, going against the stereotype of their age group, performing songs, for example, by James Brown, and Sonic Youth. Although they have toured Europe and sung for royalty, Young at Heart focuses on the preparation of new songs for a concert in their hometown, which succeeds in spite of several real heart-breaking events. http://www.theross.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
