 1. UHC Flu Shot Clinics
The University Health Center (UHC) will hold flu shot clinics for UNL
students, faculty, and staff from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 at the
UHC (1500 U St.) and Nov. 7 at the Nebraska East Union. Flu vaccinations cost
$20 and payment by cash, check or NCard is required at the time of the
vaccination. For those with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, a claim will be
filed for them by UHC staff for possible reimbursement (bring your insurance
information with you), however you will still need to pay at time of shot. Flu
vaccinations are also available by appointment at UHC for those unable to attend

 2. Credit Union Offers Letters from Santa
The University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union is participating in Letters
from Santa, a program that allows members to request a personalized letter
from Santa to be sent to all of their little loved ones. The letters will
be personalized with the child's name and other information. Each letter
is only $3 with proceeds benefiting Children's Miracle Network. The deadline
is Nov. 19. The finalized letters will be mailed out on Dec. 11. Letters

 7. Journalism college hosts post-election public forum
Political advertising consultant Jim Crounse will give a talk the day after
the election in a public forum called "Election 2008: Why Did That Happen?"
at 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications in
the J.C. Seacrest Lecture Hall, Andersen Hall. The forum is free and open
to the public. Crounse, a partner of the Mack/Crounse Group, has helped to
elect many key figures in the Democratic Party during his 26-year political
career on Capitol Hill. He is currently working for the Obama campaign.

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications will host an international

 9. Bruce Weinstein, the Ethics Guy, to speak at Lied Center
"Lie, Cheat and Steal Your Way to Success! What Would the World be Like
Without Ethics?" is the title of Bruce Weinstein's talk at the Lied Center at
3:30 p.m. Nov. 11. His interactive talk shows how living an ethical life
makes us happier and healthier. Dr. Weinstein is also known as the Ethics
Guy for his Business Week Online's ethics column. He's appeared as an ethics
analyst the Today Show, Good Morning America, the O'Reilly Factor, and MSNBC's
Live, among others. This talk, part of Ethics Day, sponsored by CBA's Program
in Business Ethics, is free and open to the entire university and the public.

13. National Climate Change Legislation and Opportunities for Nebraska
The National Climate Change Legislation and Opportunities for Nebraska
forum will be held from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Nebraska Union
auditorium. This forum will explore climate change legislation that will
likely be considered by the new Congress in 2009, and examine the
opportunities and challenges it will present to Nebraska. Keynote speakers

28. Blackboard V.8 Gradecenter Demo
The Blackboard Gradebook has been transformed into the Gradecenter. With these
improvements come many changes to the Gradebook. The adoption of Web 2.0
technology in the new Gradecenter means it looks different than the current
Gradebook, and faculty will interact with it differently. If you use the
Blackboard gradebook, you will want to be present while Heath Tuttle and Leona
Barratt demonstrate some of these new features in the new Gradecenter coming
next semester. The demo will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Nebraska
