New and Revised Professorships Announced Two new professorships and an increase in the funding for newly appointed Cather/Bessey professors has been announced. Full professors with at least a 40 percent apportionment in teaching who have developed a sustained record of teaching excellence and national visibility for instructional activities/ practice will be eligible for a new professorship, yet to be formally named, for teaching excellence. Faculty will be appointed for a five-year, renewable term and receive an annual stipend of $5000. Tenured associate professors who have a distinguished record of scholarship or creative activity and who show exceptional promise for the future may be nominated for a newly created professorship, yet to be formally named, for faculty at this rank. Faculty who receive this award will be appointed for one five-year, non-renewable term and receive an annual stipend of $5000. Oct. 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day Oct. 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a day to encourage HIV testing and push for support from public officials.
