 1. Parking Permit Order Reminder
The Parking Office reminds you that the 2008-2009 parking permits expire
on Aug. 16. If you are planning to renew your 2009-2010 permit on-line or
over-the-counter, have your NU ID number (found on your NCard) and current
vehicle information (license plate, state, color, make, model, and year)
available for all vehicles you plan to have on campus. To avoid the last
minute rush at the Parking office, renew on-line at the Web site listed
below and select "Parking Permits" button. To purchase a permit
over-the-counter visit their office at 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A. To be
guaranteed receipt of your permit before the Aug. 16 expiration date,
order before Aug. 7.

The Special Olympics Sports Classic is in Lincoln Aug. 14-16. They need
volunteers for all the events. A venue schedule and a group volunteer form

 4. Yoga on the Green For a Cause this Wednesday July 22
Join your UNL Wellness Team and Cathy Jewell, certified yoga instructor
and fitness coordinator at Campus Recreation, on the green space north of
UNL city campus for a fun, safe, 30-minute yoga workout from noon to 12:30
p.m. July 22. Be assured: you do NOT need to be a yoga expert to
participate. Bring your own mat or towel and water bottle. Time to clean
out your pantry? Donations of non-perishable food items for the Lincoln
Backpack Program will be accepted. Donations are not required, but much
appreciated.

12. NRT Continues Season with Opening of Anatomy of Gray
The third NRT production, Jim Leonard's Anatomy of Gray, opens at 7:30
p.m. July 22 in Howell Theatre. A 15-yr-old girl, grieving her dead
father, wishes up a tempest and the mysterious balloonist who blows in
brings newfangled ideas to mythical Gray, Indiana. Change spins through
this isolated little community, shaking everyone with laughter, suspicion,
wistful yearning, love, and hope. Tickets available at the Lied Center
Ticket Office: 472-4747. Additional performances are at 7:30 p.m. July 23,
25, 29, 31, Aug. 5 and 6, and at 2 p.m. on Aug. 9.

13. NRT's Destinations Series opens with The Lark and the Lounge Lizard
One night only - July 21 at 7:30 p.m. Lab Theatre, third floor, Temple
Building. Rita Stinner and Brian Mathers, well-known for their tour de
force performance in NRT 08's production of Souvenir, return to the
Nebraska Rep stage for a cabaret performance featuring an eclectic array
of music in The Lark and the Lounge Lizard. Tickets are $7 and available

14. NU State Museum offering free admission Thursday nights in July
Spend a night at the NU State Museum. Explore Morrill Hall free of charge
from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on July 30. Mueller Planetarium will feature "Secret
of the Cardboard Rocket" at 5:30 p.m. and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the
Moon: The Fulldome Experience" at 7 p.m. Tickets sold at the museum's

15. NU State Museum's 'Wildlife and Nature Photo Contest'
The NU State Museum's "Wildlife and Nature Photo Contest" will run through
Sept. 30. Amateur photographers who are Nebraska residents age 18 or older
are invited to submit striking photos of wildlife and natural settings
taken anywhere in the world. All entries will be displayed in Morrill Hall

17. Nebraska All-Star Basketball and Volleyball Live on NET Television
All the action of the "Nebraska All-Star Girls and Boys Basketball" and
"Nebraska All-Star Volleyball" contests will be broadcast live across the
state on July 27 and July 28, on NET1 Cable 12, over-the-air 12.1 and in
high-definition on NET-HD. Girls basketball will begin at 6 p.m. on
Monday, followed at 8 p.m. by the boys game. The volleyball competition
begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
