SCHOOL OF MUSIC Events: June 30-July 6

High School Jazz Camp started Sunday, June 28 and runs thru July 2. 
The first annual Jazz Camp will offer high school students, grades 9 i
through 12, the chance to study with UNL Jazz faculty and guest clinician i
is renowned drummer John Riley. The faculty for camp include renowned 
drummer John Riley, Dr. Paul Haar (Saxophone, Big Band, Combos, History), 
Dr. Eric Richards (Trombone, Composition, Theory, Combos, Big Band), 
Dr. Peter Bouffard (Rhythm, Theory, Combos) and Robert Krueger (Trumpet,

Beginning July 12, the School of Music will host the annual Cornhusker 
Summer Marching Band Camp for high school students and the Middle School

 1. H1N1 Update
The H1N1 information on the university's emergency Web site has recently
been updated. Please continue to visit http://emergency.unl.edu for the
latest information on H1N1 flu. University Health Center director Dr.
James Guest said that so far this summer, the symptoms of Novel H1N1 have
been very mild, typically lasting less than three days. To prevent the
spread of illnesses, Dr. Guest advises everyone to cover your mouth and
nose when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer,
avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and stay home if you don't feel
well.

 2. Limited Submission-NSF Scholarships in STEM
NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Deadline: 8/11/09, 7/14/10, 7/13/11 (Letter of Intent); 9/14/09, 8/12/10,
8/11/11 (Full Proposal). Organizational Limit: An institution may submit
one proposal from each constituent school or college that awards degrees
in an eligible field. If you are interested in developing a proposal,
please complete a Notification of Intent to Submit no later than July 10,

 3. Public Parking for July 4th Special Campus Event
Public parking for the July 4 special event will be available beginning
at 4 p.m. The event parking is $5 in the parking lots west of 16th
Street and $3 in the lots east of 16th Street. UNL parking permits will be
honored free of charge in the 14th and New Hampshire, Boathouse, and
Business Services Complex parking lots. Faculty and staff requiring access
to campus prior to 4 p.m. must make arrangements with the Special Event
Office at 472-8436 or by emailing Ron Fuller at rfuller@unl.edu.

 4. Parking Lot Closures Due to Maintenance
The following list of parking lots will be closed or partially closed on
the dates specified for maintenance. Lot closing signs will be posted at
the entrance of the lot 24-48 hours before the scheduled date of
maintenance. If weather delays the project a new date will be posted on
the Parking and Transit Services Web site listed below.
7/01 - UHC Patient Lot, 2 Day Closing - Patient parking available in the
F5 through 7/2/2009
7/6 - Business Services Complex (Area A), 5 Day Partial Closing - Parking

Spend a night at the State Museum. Explore Morrill Hall free of charge

"Dark Side of the Moon: The Fulldome Experience" at 7 p.m. these nights.

bottle. Time to clean out your closet? Donations of a gently used jackets

The Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory is a nationally accredited
program offering early care and educational services for children 2.5-5
years. We are located on East Campus. Currently, there are openings in our
