Parking Permit Preorder for 2009-2010 Faculty and staff may preorder parking permits on-line for next fall. You are required to have your NU ID number, found on your NCard, to order your permit. You will also need, at the time of on-line ordering, current vehicle information (license plate, state, color, make, model, and year) for those vehicles you plan to have on-campus next year. To renew online go to the Web site below and click the "Parking Permits" button. Over the-counter renewals begin June 1 at 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A. Online preorders made before Aug. 1 will be mailed to faculty and staff offices. Stow the permit in a safe place and do not display until Aug. 17. Individuals wishing to become part of the carpool program can inquire about lots/garages available and carpool program requirements. http://parking.unl.edu/ ************************************************************************* 2. The Department of Art and Art History has a new telephone number The Department of Art and Art History has a new telephone number: 472-5522. Update your files to reflect this change. Sponsored Guests for My.UNL On May 15, the "Create User" tool in the My.UNL Control Panel will be shut off. If you are an instructor who needs to add a user to My.UNL who is not already faculty/staff/student or an affiliate of UNL, you must use the tool available at the URL listed below. The new process will provide better security and better protect access to student work and grades. The new procedure will also benefit guests by assigning them a single identity across the system with a single login (the guest's email address) and password. Guests will be allowed access for six months. High School Astronomy Camp: Observing the Night Sky High School Astronomy Camp: Observing the Night Sky will be offered from July 12 to 18. This is the 7th summer an astronomy camp has been offered at UNL. Their goal is to expose high school students to astronomy in the hope that they will consider pursuing a career in science. Campers will attend classes to discuss questions related to night sky observations during the day and participate in research projects, with telescopes and CCDs, related to them at night. "Soft Power" quilt documentary to air on NET2 NET2 will air "Soft Power," a 30-minute documentary on women's uses of quilting as a form of expression. The video is scheduled to air at 9:30 p.m. May 16 and repeat at 2:30 p.m. May 17. The documentary was written by recent broadcasting alums Maika Bauerle and Michaela Stevens and supervised by journalism professor Rick Alloway.
