Parking and Traffic Congestion May 5-8 ************************************************************************* 1. Annual Steam Outages for 2010 Planning for the Annual Steam Outages has begun. The centralized steam distribution system must be shut down to conduct required maintenance of equipment, including replacing and upgrading many key components of the University's Utility System. The outages will occur on the following dates depending upon an average weekly high temperature of 60 degrees or more: * City Campus only from May 9 through May 15 * East Campus only from May 16 through May 22 These dates were selected due to the decreased student activity on campus. During the steam outages there will be no heating and no process steam available in those building systems served by campus steam. Call for Nominations - 2010-2011 Nebraska Lecture Series The UNL Research Council is soliciting nominations for the 2010-2011 Nebraska Lecture Series. In collaboration with the Office of Research, the Research Council established this lecture series in 2003. The purpose is to celebrate the significant accomplishments and contributions made by UNL faculty in different academic disciplines, to foster communication among students and faculty in different academic disciplines, and to present topics of public interest in a format that will attract a wide audience, including the local community and public officials. Trailside Museum to unveil new paleontology exhibit April 15 The Trailside Museum of Natural History at Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford, Neb., will unveil a new paleontology exhibit featuring art by Mark Marcuson on April 15. The permanent exhibit consists of 18 scientific reconstructions of animals that roamed Nebraska at various times over the last 40 million years.
