The application deadline for May 2010 graduates is Jan. 29. All students
planning to graduate in May must submit an Application for Degree form and
$25 check or cash payment to Graduation Services, 109 Canfield
Administration Building. Students graduating with multiple degrees must
complete a form and pay a fee for each degree.

 2. H1N1 Vaccine Still Available at the UHC
The H1N1 vaccine is available for all UNL students, faculty, staff and
family members at the University Health Center (UHC) by appointment only.
The shot will be at no charge for UHC facility fee paying students (those
taking 7 or more credits); all others will be charged a $6 administration

 3. Betty Tutt Retirement Card Shower
Betty Tutt has retired after more than 20 years of service to UNL. Tutt
served in a number of roles at CIT, in the Office of the Vice Chancellor
for Business and Finance, and most recently in the Budget Office. She was
also a member and past officer of UNOPA. Cards and letters may be sent for

 4. Access to Online Medical Journals
The UNL and UNMC Libraries now share access to scholarly journals
published by Elsevier. This means that UNL students and faculty have

 6. Volunteers needed for IRS VITA Program
Volunteers are needed for the IRS VITA Program that offers free tax
assistance to international students and scholars. You do not have to be
at every session. Anyone can volunteer. Required training is from 2 to 5
p.m. Feb. 10 at International Affairs. Tax sessions are held on Tuesday
afternoons (1 to 7 p.m.) from March 2 to April 13 at the Nebraska Union.

 7. Plant Science wireless computer network upgrade
The wireless computer network in Plant Science will be expanded and
upgraded on Feb. 3. This will replace the current wireless 802.11AG
network with the newer 802.11AGN wireless access points.

The UNL Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education invites the

15. Limited Submission - NSF MRI Program Solicitation Released
The deadline for Limited Submission - NSF Major Research Instrumentation
Program: Instrument Acquisition or Development is April 21. There is a
limit of three proposals per institution, whether as a lead institution or
a significantly funded subawardee. If three proposals are submitted, at
least one of the proposals must be for instrument development. Potential
applicants must complete a two-step process to be considered for selection
for one of UNL's three MRI slots. First, submit an on-line Notice of
Intent to Submit form by Feb. 8. Then, submit a UNL pre-proposal by Feb.
19. The pre-proposal template is located at the Web site below.
Instructions for completion are contained in the template. The Office of
Research and Economic Development will select three projects to move
forward as full proposals to NSF by March 1. If you have questions contact

Sheldon Museum of Art will present "Esphyr Slobodkina: Rediscovering a
