Research Interests

Experimental and computational mechanics of materials, including high strain rate and shock wave experiments, rheometry, tribometry, large-amplitude stress wave propagation analysis, failure wave modeling and simulations, polycrystalline structure modeling and simulations, hybrid continuum and atomistic modeling and simulations of solid systems and solid-fluid interfaces, and dynamic response of ceramics, glasses, composites, polymer melts and compounds, and lubricants.
