Supported by: UNL NRI (1st year, current) - AFOSR (2nd through 4th years, anticipated)

Research Area: Experimental and theoretical research on fatigue damage mechanics of laminates leading to the development of a Smart NDE System; applications of state-of-the-art acoustic emission, acousto-ultrasonics, and ultrasonic scanning techniques.

Level: Ph.D.

Duration of Current Support: 4 years

Desired Starting Date: May/August, 1996

Qualifications: M.S. in Mechanics, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent; experience
in experimental mechanics of composites
