The Stress Field Due to Discrete and Continuously Distributed Dislocations in Anisotropic Bicrystal

Based on the stress and displacement solutions of a discrete dislocation in an anisotropic crystal, the corresponding solutions in an anisotropic bicrystal are derived.   The continuity of the stress field along the bicrystal interface is confirmed by the results obtained, and the character of the stress field due to an interface dislocation is discussed.  The discrete dislocation model is then generalized to a continuous model.  This latter model is used to develop a model of crack interacting with the bicrystal interface and a dislocation pile-up in the crystal.  The integral equations to solve for the density and stress intensity factors of the crack are derived.
