The Department of English at UNL encourages undergraduate students to match their intellectual interests to a meaningful career path. To that end, the department offers an orientation course on “Career Planning for English Majors” as well as other worthwhile, career-focused opportunities. While it’s true that English majors find that their major program takes them “from words to worlds,” career planning goes beyond individual course assignments. The English Undergraduate Advising Office has developed a close, productive relationship with Career Services so that our students plan an undergraduate experience that is enjoyable and employable.
Internships are available in a variety of areas including: Editing & Publishing, Library & Information Science, Higher Education, Writing, and Digital Humanities. Students interested in internship opportunities should contact the English Undergraduate Advisor.
Career Services helps you explore and pursue career options, gain experience, conduct a successful job search and apply for graduate school.
Husker Hire Link is UNL’s on-line job search service connecting students with employers for jobs and internships. Listings are classified by job function, not by major.
