List of Prestigious Fellowships

Listed below are some of the most prestigious external awards for undergraduate and graduate study. If you have questions about whether, or how to apply to a specific merit based competition, speak to Dr. Laura Damuth, Director of Undergraduate Research, Office of Undergraduate Studies. There are two categories of national awards: those that require institutional nomination and endorsement (students therefore cannot apply on their own) and those for which students can nominate themselves. However it is highly suggested that students who are interested in these awards register their intent and seek assistance with their personal statement and application from the academic coordinator.

Be on the look out for experiences that will enhance your candidacy: research experiences (such as UCARE or an REU), internships, independent study, campus involvement, community service and career-related employment.
