APPLY AS SOPHOMORES OR JUNIORS

The Udall scholarship honors the legislative legacy of Congressman Morris K. Udall and promotes future scientists and policymakers in areas impacted by his efforts, in particular students seeking careers in environmental policy and/or environmental science OR Native American/Native Alaskan students seeking careers in healthcare or tribal policy.

Candidates should apply in their sophomore or junior years.

Most often students who apply for the Udall are majoring in Environmental Studies or areas related to environmental issues. (There is a list on the Udall website of possible majors.)

Students are selected based on their commitment to career in environmental science or policy. This is demonstrated in the application through:

  • LEADERSHIP
  • SERVICE
  • RESEARCH

Campus deadline: November 1; National deadline: early March.
