Kathe is responsible for all College publications, including the Lively Arts and Alumni Newsletter and Magazine. She is also responsible for special events, such as Honors Day Weekend, Donor Recognition Lunch, Nebraska Young Artist Awards, the Geske Lecture, and the Celebration of Graduate Student Work. She also works on external relations projects with the Alumni Board and Hixson-Lied Advisory Board.
David Bagby

David helps students, faculty and staff use computers and multimedia technology in their studies, in teaching, in work and in research and creative activity. Together with student employee tech assist ants, he supports desktop and laptop computers and software, and some labs and multimedia classrooms. David consults on developing uses of technology to support and improve learning and teaching and the business activities of the college. He researches and recommends hardware and software, and helps connect the people of our college with other technology resources available on campus.
Sara serves as Advising Coordinator for the College. Major focus of her work includes meeting with prospective students, processing transfer credits for incoming students, publishing the Dean's List, coordinating New Student Enrollment, and providing support for advisors and students with questions that may arise. She comes with three years of experience working in the College's Department of Art & Art History and an educational background in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Faye serves as the Dean's liaison between the University Admissions Office and the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Department Admission Coordinators for the Department of Art and Art History, the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, and the School of Music, for the purpose of admitting new students to fine arts majors. She coordinates audition results with students who applied to UNL, monitors and tracks their application status with the University Admissions Office and determines if they are eligible for fine arts majors. She is also the director of the College Ambassador program and recruits new students at college fairs and university open house events.
As the assistant to the Dean, Linda manages the Dean's calendar, correspondence, and other transactions. She works in the fields of finance and human resources, overseeing time entry, purchasing cards, hiring, and promotion and tenure. Linda is also heavily involved in the UNOPA program, currently serving as the organization's president.
Curtis covers the front desk and answers the main phone-line, re-directing calls as needed to the appropriate department or staff member. He meets and greets visitors and serves as the Building Maintenance Reporter for the Woods Art Building. He also updates the Hixson-Lied College website, oversees the Hixson-Lied grant database, and completes a variety of office duties for the Dean's staff.
Michael assists students, faculty, and staff and works in the new digital arts studio in Richards Hall room 17. This area was designed with collaborative work in mind; by bringing together the best in software and hardware, the space enables students to have their talents be both seen and heard. The Digital Arts Initiative is spearheaded by the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts in collaboration with each of its three departments. Phil supervises the development and maintenance of College and departmental technology infrastructure. Leading a team of information technology support staff and student assistants, he supports all of the College's faculty, staff and students. In addition to coordinating technology support for the College, Phil administers all of the College's central services and ensures that the College stays on the cutting edge of technology in the Arts.

Dori Smidt

Dori oversees all budgeting and financial matters within the Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts and the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Dori started her career as an auditor for Deloitte where she became a Certified Public Accountant. She began her career at UNL in the Accounting department as the Cost Accountant for 5 years before accepting a position as the Business Operations Manager in Facilities Management and Planning. In the 4 years at FMP, Dori implemented numerous process improvements, new budget reports, and worked with the departments on several changes including an Electronic Time system. In her current capacity as Assistant Dean of Business and Finance she is looking forward to utilizing her strong financial background to help strengthen not only the colleges, but the University as a whole.
