Admission
Students must be accepted into the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts in order to major in Art, Art History, Dance, Music, or Theatre. Students gain entrance into the College through a dual process of review using the UNL general admission requirements and specific college admission requirements.
For general admission students must apply and be accepted to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln through the UNL on-line application, which has a May 1 deadline for summer and fall admission.
Within the College of Fine & Performing Arts some majors and emphasis areas require further action by the student, in the form of an in-person audition, or a special application with supporting materials to the department office.
