| MFA THESIS EXHIBITION II OPENS APRIL 3 Lincoln, Neb.-- The Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibitions continue in April at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. MFA Thesis Exhibition II runs April 3-11 and includes MFA candidates Carlos Guerrero, painting, Jeremy Johnson, painting, and Dennis Schmickle, graphic design. A reception will be held on April 7, from 5-7pm. ''''''' Gallery hours for the MFA Thesis Exhibitions' are Monday-Friday, noon to 4pm. '' Guerrero's show is untitled, but will consist of large drawings and mixed media sculpture. His work is a narrative formed around the concepts of identity of culture and self. ' Guerrero received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. His recent exhibitions include "Tugboat Presents " at the Hot Shops Gallery in Omaha and "Visual Voices:' UNL MFA Students " at the Haydon Gallery in Lincoln. '''' Schmickle's exhibition is entitled "Universal Remote. " It is an investigation of decoration, design and the barrier between art and non-art objects. ''' Schmickle received his Bachelor of Science in graphic design and studio art from the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. His professional experience includes poster designer for the Clean Part Reading Series at the Tugboat Gallery in Lincoln, poster designer for Tugboat Gallery, art director and designer for PaperGarden Records in Nashville, freelance graphic designer for EMI Records in Nashville, and poster design and print for One Percent Productions in Omaha. ''''''' Jeremy Johnson's exhibition is entitled "Informed. " In his artist's statement, he writes, "I reveal force/field patterns through the use of technology and scientific instrumentation. Under specific parameters, patterns and forms are quantifiably reproduced, suggesting an objective field from which they emerge. These informed patterns are reminiscent of art used and created by past cultures, suggesting an archetypal language relevant today through contemporary means of identifying and manufacturing. " ''''''' Johnson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003 from UNL. He is the recipient of a Kimmel Fellowship and an Alan Williams Fellowship. In 2005, he was a finalist in the Nexus Competition, which was sponsored by the UNL Office of Research and merged science and art. '''' The final MFA Thesis exhibitions, MFA Thesis Exhibition III, runs April 17-25 and includes MFA candidates Jennifer Ghormley, printmaking, Jen Lukas, graphic design, and Dan Perry, sculpture.
