Lincoln, Neb. — Janice Stauffer, Associate Professor of Costume Design at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has been selected by the Executive Committee of Region V to receive the highest honor that the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival can give: the Kennedy Center Gold Medallion, according to Tom Woldt, Chair of Region V and National Chair of Chairs for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

In a letter to Stauffer, Woldt explained, "Your work as a designer, teacher, festival-production designer and mentor, and, most especially, as a mentor to countless design students who have not only won numerous KCACTF awards and commendations, but who also now continue to carry the torch as teachers/designers/mentors in KCACTF (and elsewhere) make you a very deserving recipient of this award. This award is given for a significant body of work related to KCACTF and its students."

Stauffer will receive her medallion on Friday night, January 23, at the Region V Festival Awards ceremony at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
