Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music presents the 3rd Annual New Music for Big Band from UNL concert, Tuesday, Oct 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

UNL's award-winning Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of professor Eric Richards, and the UNL Big Band, directed by UNL graduate teaching assistant in Jazz Studies, Dave Stamps, will present a program that will feature the world premiere of several newly written works by UNL student composers-arrangers along with Nebraska premieres of music by UNL faculty and alumni.
New works include:
- "Today is Tomorrow's Yesterday" by Andrew Janak
- "Leah Noelle" by Dave Stamps
- "Process of Illumination" by Karl Lyden
(Downbeat Magazine's 2011 Outstanding Undergraduate Composer) - "500 Miles High" composed by Chick Corea and arranged by Kara Baxter
(UNL's new Vocal Jazz Ensemble director)
Tickets are available at the door and are $5 for general admission, $3 for students and seniors.
