Theatrix concludes season with "Almost, Maine"

Lincoln, Neb. - Theatrix, the student-operated theatre organization under the auspices of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, ends its 2011-2012 "Season of Fire" with a series of love stories, "Almost, Maine."

"Almost, Maine" by John Cariani tells the tale of love through a series of theatrical vignettes. You journey with the townspeople of Almost, Maine as they find love, loose love, and everything in between. Under the direction of junior directing/theater management major Sean Grosshans, "this story, set in a cold place, will have no trouble warming your heart."

Scenic design by technical theater major Michael Fortkamp is coupled with the lighting design by first year graduate lighting design student Clay VanWinkle. The show's mood is enhanced with a score written by junior composition major Nick Dahlquist and engineered by Matthew Lorence. Costume design is by sophomore technical theater major Amy Avila and props by film student Morgan Cooper. Technical director, junior technical theater major Alma Cerretta and freshmen stage manager Savannah Kurtz, supervise the entire operation. Together, this technical team transports you from a chair in the theatre into a world that is a winter wonderland.

"Almost, Maine" will run April 4-7 at 7:30pm in the Lab Theatre, located on the 3rd floor of the Temple Building, 12th and R streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. Individual show tickets are $6 via credit card (some user fees may be applied) at unltheatretickets.com or at the door the evening of the events (subject to availability).
