Lincoln, Neb. - Theatrix, the student-operated theatre organization under the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, continues it’s 2012-2013 season with "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" by Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony nominated playwright David Mamet. "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" will run October 24-26 at 7:30pm in the Lab Theatre, located on the 3rd floor of the Temple Building, 12th and R streets in Lincoln, Nebr.

Two men and two women in their twenties explore the swinging singles scene in the disco-infused city of Chicago in 1978. Danny meets Deborah and soon they are lovers as well as roommates. Bernie and Joan seem to have the politics of sex down pat, but are as confused as their more naïve counterparts. This comedic drama follows the four as they try to figure out how to satisfy the world of the opposite sex.
Director Jonathan Hunt Sell brings Mamet’s script from page to stage with the help of a Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film design team. Scenic design by technical theatre major Greg Rishoi is accentuated by the lighting design of technical graduate student Joey Burbach. The groove of the 70’s is brought to life by sound designer and DJ Matt Lorence. Technical and design theatre major Katie Davis heads the costume department and technical graduate student Vicki Halverson acts as props master. Technical direction is overseen by second year technical graduate student Matt Rightmire. Stage manager Veronica Allshouse runs the show and Marisol Herling mans the dance floor as the show’s choreographer.
