Lincoln, Neb. - When Greg Coffey was a student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln School of Music, where he received his BME, his musical interests could be found in writing for piano and guitar, performing, and producing … but especially drums. Greg was a member of the Cornhusker Marching Band. “I was in the drumline for four years,” he says with pride. At Kansas State, where he received his Master’s degree in percussion in May 2012, he was the drumline instructor and arranger.

Anthony Falcone, Director of the Cornhusker Marching Band, said "Greg is a person of many and diverse talents. It steadily became apparent during his time in the School of Music that he was going to burst out of the structure imposed by academia. I'm happy for him, wish him all the success in the world, and am eager to hear his first album."
A native of Upstate New York, Greg left the Midwest with degrees in hand and headed to Nashville where he currently lives. As a multitalented singer, songwriter, producer, and musician, Coffey’s musical influences have ranged from The Beach Boys to Stevie Wonder. His first album, GREG COFFEY, is now available as a CD or download through iTunes, cdbaby.com, Amazon, or Google.
Greg plans to visit UNL on September 20 to give a talk about his career as a professional musician.
