Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music presents the Symphonic Band in a concert entitled "Absolute Music," conducted by Anthony Falcone and featuring faculty guest artist, Paul Haar on tenor saxophone.

The repertoire will include Canzona (1951) by Peter Mennin; and two movements from "Go!" (2008): II. Go Slow and III. Go Fast, by Bob Mintzer. After the intermission, the concert will conclude with "Fantasies on a Theme by Haydn" (1968) by Norman Dello Joio; and Symphony No. 6 for Band, Op. 69 (1956) by Vincent Persichetti.

The concert is on Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets: General admission $5, student/senior $3, available at the door approx. one hour before the performance.
