This school year marks the 11th anniversary of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts' Nebraska Young Artist Awards Day, which recognize high school juniors who are outstanding in some area of the arts‹music, dance, theatre, art, or film and new media. During the past nine years, more than 640 students from across the entire state of Nebraska have been recognized. These students have been selected based on the quality of their art and were selected by our faculty to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with their families as our guests for a day of activities and an awards ceremony. They see the campus, visit with UNL students and get information about what a career in some area of the arts could be like. This year's day of activities will be on April 2, 2008. |
