The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Women's Club began in 1894 to stimulate intellectual and moral development, promote good fellowship among its members, and foster social life at the state university of Nebraska. Early in its existence, the club helped newly arrived immigrants and students, faculty, and faculty wives new to the university. The club started raising money for scholarships for UNL students in 1901.
The purpose of The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Women's Club is to promote friendship among members, to strengthen their bond of common interest, and to provide service to the University including funding scholarships.
Membership is open to any person with a connection to the University of Nebraska, who is interested in the activities, well being, and continuance of the University of Nebraska and the UNL Women's Club. To join, please complete the membership application form in our most recent Fall Newsletter and send to the treasurer as indicated on the form.
Our Interest Groups are active, promoting life-long friendships while sharing fun and rewarding activities. Any member, with up-to-date paid dues, may join one or more interest groups throughout the year. For a description of each specific Interest Group, day and time of meetings, and the current chairperson's contact information, refer to our Fall Newsletter.
