Nominations for a 2008 Distinguished Scholar Thirteen years ago the Ethnic Geography Specialty Group (EGSG) established the EGSG Distinguished Scholar Award to honor outstanding scholars in the field of ethnic geography. Past recipients of the award include: Terry G. Jordan, Wilbur Zelinski, R. Cole Harris, Allen G. Noble, James P. Allen, Michael P. Cozen, Richard L. Nostrand, Susan Hardwick, Thomas D. Boswell, Daniel Arreola, David Ley, Curtis Roseman, Joe Darden and Kay J. Anderson. As of 2003, nomination of the distinguished scholars is open to the entire membership. The committee will make its selection based on review of the nominee's updated CV (email or online). Nomination of non-EGSG members or foreign scholars is welcome. A formal announcement of the recipients will be made at the EGSG annual business meeting. Nominations for
a 2008 Distinguished Scholar are now being accepted. Please send nominations
to Carlos Teixeira (Chair, EGSG Distinguished Scholar Award) (email
Carlos.Teixeira@ubc.ca), no later than March 1, 2007 so that the committee
will have sufficient time to solicit a CV from all candidates and make
a final decision. |
