Syllabus Policy

All classroom instructors should be aware of Section 4.1 of the Bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, which requires instructors to “inform students concerning the requirements, standards, objectives, and evaluation procedures at the beginning of each course.” UNL requires that this information be conveyed to students via a written syllabus at the beginning of each course.

Social Security Number Usage Policy

New instructors need to be aware that UNL policy now prohibits the use of Social Security Numbers to identify students. Here is the text of the policy: “The University has a responsibility to protect the identity of its faculty, staff and students, as well as all individuals with whom it has an association including alumni, donors, research subjects, patrons of UNL entertainment, athletic facilities and libraries, potential students, and affiliates.
