Admission as an International Student

Transfers: If you are now enrolled at another U.S. school, your SEVIS record must be released to UNL.
  1. We send your Certificate of Graduate Admission to you.
  2. You contact your current International Student Advisor and request a transfer to UNL.
  3. Your International Student Advisor releases your SEVIS record to UNL.
  4. We create a new Form I-20 and send it to you.
For more specific information and instructions, contact Graduate Admissions.

When we offer admission, we send a UNL Certificate of Graduate Admission to the address that the applicant indicated on his or her application. Your admission packet will include a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019, if you have told us that you plan to hold an F-1 or J-1 visa.

If you are not currently in the U.S., take the I-20 or DS-2019 to the U.S. Embassy where you will apply for a visa. For the best available information and advice on applying for a student visa, consult the U.S. Department of State resources found on the Education USA website at http://educationusa.state.gov/usvisa.htm.
