Deadlines

Applicants outside the U.S. should plan ahead and apply early. In some parts of the world, you may have to wait a long time for steps like these:

• Obtaining official academic records from your other schools
• Obtaining financial documents from your bank or sponsor
• Having your non-English documents translated into English
• Mailing your academic records and other application materials to us
• Taking the GRE or TOEFL and having ETS send your scores to us
• Getting an appointment for a visa interview at a U.S. Embassy or consulate

Some departments recognize these delays and set earlier deadlines for international applicants. If your department has an application deadline, mail your materials early enough for them to reach Graduate Admissions before that deadline.
