Celebrating Diversity

The Office of Graduate Studies believes that a diverse graduate student body is necessary to creating a quality educational environment. It is only through the inclusion of multiple perspectives that truly rich academic inquiry can occur. We are committed to the recruitment, support, retention, and degree attainment of a representative and diverse student body.

Campus Centers

Nebraska's campus centers are a resource for students and the campus community. They coordinate events, provide meeting space and environments for open discussion, and are staffed with passionate personnel.

Academics

The investigation, exploration, and understanding of those factors that bear on the lives and experiences, both past and present, of ethnically distinct minority groups in the U.S. and women are important to the climate of the university. The interdisciplinary academic programs also sponsor or co-sponsor a variety of lectures, symposia, research projects, and cultural events on campus, and serve as a resource for students, faculty and staff.

Advising

Activities and Events

Activities and events surrounding racial and ethnic diversity work to create a body of individuals who will actively promote diversity as a tool for change and work for the betterment of the campus community. These events take place throughout the year, both on our campus and in conjunction with our Big Ten colleagues.

Student Organizations

Student Organizations provide a venue for students with similar interests and cultures to gather, to learn from each other, to support one another, and to share perspectives with the broader campus community. Whether the group's focus is academic, professional, or social, student organizations also provide an opportunity for students to network and develop leadership skills.
