Financial Resource Certification

Applicants who expect to hold an F-1 (Student) or J-1 (Exchange Visitor) visa will need an I-20 Form or DS-2019 Form from UNL. Before we can issue those forms, we need to see evidence that the student will have sufficient funds available for the first nine-month academic year.

Typically, these funds come from one or more of the following sources:
     •   a UNL teaching or research assistantship
     •   a scholarship from a university or government agency in the student's home country
     •   personal or family sources

We ask applicants to complete a Financial Resource Certification form (PDF) and mail it to us with bank statements or other documentation of their funding.
