Parents of Students - Tips/Information just for you
If your student needs to speak with someone after the University Health Center is closed, a nurse at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center's Telephone Line to Care is available at (402) 219-8050. If there is an emergency, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.
- Located on campus, the University Health Center (UHC) provides a convenient source of healthcare. The staff at the UHC provides a variety of services and educates students about health-related issues. Because a portion of each student's fee goes to the UHC, most charges for services are lower than community rates.
- Before your student ever calls home or even leaves for school, make sure he or she has all the proper insurance information. This includes a front and back copy of your insurance card and pharmacy card which can be carried in their wallet.
- When your student is ill or injured, have him or her call the UHC at (402) 472-5000 to make an appointment. The UHC is open the following hours during the academic year:
- 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday - Thursday
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays
- 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday and designated holidays
12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Monday - Friday
At the main clinic, there is a triage nurse who is able to see your student right away and assess if immediate care is needed or an appointment with a provider at a later time.
