What kind of training is provided for Husker Choices Educators?

We take a one-credit class, NUTR 230, taught by the Coordinator of Education. The class meets once a week during the spring semester, to educate new members on the history of our group, our presentations and campaigns, and other alcohol and drug-related information. We meet as an entire group twice a month to plan presentations and organize and plan activities.

Coordinators' Responsibilities

The Coordinator of Communications is responsible for helping apply for grants, revamping presentations, and communications with the Husker Choices members and the rest of the UNL community. S/he is also responsible for publicizing the group and recruiting new members.

The Coordinator of Education is responsible for educating the UNL campus and leading a class for first-year members, NUTR 230. This class for new members covers the purposes and history of the organization, basic alcohol information, presentation skills, and how to be contributing members to Husker Choices. This coordinator is also responsible for marketing the six Husker Choices presentations.

The Coordinator of Campaigns is responsible for organizing and implementing Husker Choices' annual Social Norms, NCAAW, and Safe Spring Break Campaigns. S/he also oversees other campaigns that occur throughout the year.
