Meet the Staff

Janet C

Hi! I'm Janet Crawford, Alcohol and Drug Services Coordinator. I have a Ph.D. in Education, Psychological and Cultural Studies and a Master's Degree in Counseling from UNL. I have worked in Health Education for many years (specific years aren't necessary) in a variety of positions including the Health Aide Program, Marketing, Alcohol and Drug Education, Wellness, Sexuality and have recently returned to Alcohol and Drug Education. I am currently working to become a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I work closely with other departments on campus in providing a comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Education program to our students. I am always available to meet with students, friends of students and family members as needed. In addition to providing services for students with alcohol and/or drug issues I am available to do interviews, provide resources and assistance with other academic projects. Stop by Room 12 (lower level) at the University Health Center if you have questions or concerns.

 Kirsten L

Hi! I am Kirsten Licht (pronounced Light). Around here they call me Bud. I bring a different perspective to the job; youth for one (just kidding boss). I am the Assistant Alcohol and Drug Services Coordinator. Before becoming gainfully employed, I was a student at UNL (for 7 years). I did manage to get a couple degrees, a B.S. in Family Science and a M.S. in Leadership Education.

I recently left the "front line." Since I was a college student and sorority member not long ago, I have firsthand knowledge of the alcohol culture at UNL. I feel like this gives me a unique perspective when working with college students and alcohol.

My areas include overseeing Husker Choices, the peer alcohol education group at UNL. I also provide brief interventions to heavy drinkers, provide campus wide alcohol and drug education and work with the Greek system and student leaders.
