Health Aides provide:


Services
  • Help in an emergency!
  • Wrap an injured arm or leg
  • Clean and bandage wounds
  • Assess symptoms
  • Carry over-the-counter medications for minor illnesses
  • Offer friendly support
  • Screen blood pressure (at City and East Campus Unions and Love Library)
Education and Resources
  • Health Aide Journals (weekly news/topics)
  • Promote and participate in UNL events
    • Health fairs and screenings
    • Campus Blood Drive
    • Stress-Free Zone
    • Many more!
Referrals (as needed)
  • University Health Center
  • After-hours assistance
    • Telephone Line To Care (402)-219-8050
    • Urgent care clinics
    • Local hospitals
    • Other community resources
Health Aides follow protocols to assist with:
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Stomach/abdominal complaints
  • Injuries/wounds
  • Other acute or chronic conditions such as allergies, Diabetes, seizures
  • Acute alcohol or drug effects
  • Emotional concerns
Health Aides Do Not:
  • Diagnose illnesses or injuries
  • Carry any prescription medications
  • Dispense condoms
  • Transport anyone to a medical facility (but can arrange it)
