Welcome to International Affairs at UNL
The Office of International Affairs promotes and supports global engagement at UNL through value-added, education abroad opportunities; diverse scholarly exchanges and international partnerships; and expert immigration services for international students, visiting scholars, researchers, and faculty. We accomplish our mission by:
- Collaborating with colleges, departments and faculty leaders to create and implement education abroad opportunities that encourage students' development as global citizens;
- Assisting international students and scholars with immigration and visa issues;
- Supporting departments and colleges in their efforts to hire and retain highly qualified international researchers and faculty;
- Facilitating the routing of international agreements that establish formal partnerships between UNL and international institutions; and
- Supporting student and faculty exchange.
Three UNL students receive Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for Summer 2012.
The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

Study Abroad has reopened several of the Fall/Academic Year 2012 scholarships. Deadline May 15.
