Welcome to the International Affairs Office at UNL
To International students, scholars, faculty researchers and their families:On behalf of the entire staff of International Affairs, let me extend a warm welcome to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, city of Lincoln, state of Nebraska, and the United States.
Since the University of Nebraska-Lincoln opened its doors in 1869, it has been associated with a tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to international education. The needs for sharing knowledge promoting global perspectives and mutual understanding are vital to successfully meet the many challenges facing the world's peoples.
The Office of International Affairs (IA) is a service organization, reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. IA’s mission is to support students, faculty, and administrators in all academic units as these engage in international education. Through partnerships and collaborative projects, we assist faculty, administrators, students, and staff to position UNL as a leading global campus and to enhance its visibility around the world.
We recognize that students and scholars from different cultures and educational systems will need advice and assistance during their stay. International Affairs has a staff of professionals who will help you adjust to UNL, the Lincoln community, and the United States.
Your diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives offer much to Nebraskans. We ask that you participate in our programs which aim to facilitate interaction, mutual learning, and cultural understanding between the international community and the students and people of Nebraska.
Please stop by the International Affairs Office at 420 University Terrace. We would like to meet you and welcome you to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Warmest Regards,
