Global Gateway
This program is designed to promote and enhance global competency among undergraduate students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Scholarships may be used for UNL faculty-led study abroad programs (for UNL credit) or for language study programs offered any time from December 2011 through August 2012.
150 scholarships of $1500 will be awarded. Priority will be given to UNL undergraduate students who have not previously traveled outside the U.S.

How to apply
- Review the eligibility requirements. Recipients must be:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at UNL.
- Able to verify excellent undergraduate achievement (GPA surpassing 2.5).
- Committed to goals of the Global Gateway Program.
- Willing to complete a pre- and post-travel assessment, if requested.
- Preview the Global Gateway application and prepare text for your essay responses and resumé.
- Make sure MyRED has your current email address, mailing address, and phone number.
- In the Student Center, under Personal Information, select Demographic Data and click through the tabs. Update if needed.
- Submit the Global Gateway application before 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011.
After you apply
You'll receive a confirmation email when you submit your application. If you don't receive that email, please contact us.
After the submission deadline, reviewers will begin evaluating all of the application files. Awardees will be notified by December 20, 2011.
