Keimyung University began in 1954 as Keimyung Christian College and became a university in 1978. Located in Taegu, South Korea, this modern university serves approximately 20,000. With outstanding programs, facilities and faculty, Keimyung is a leading private university with a reputation for quality and excellence in teaching, research, and service to Korean society.
Taegu is Korea’s third largest city, with a population of about two million people. Mountains surround the city on all sides. The climate of the region has four temperate seasons, with cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. Taegu now is known as Korea’s college city with five universities and several colleges. It is the historic center of Korea’s apple-growing and textile industries and is famous for the So-Mun Market (West Gate Market), the oldest and largest of the traditional Korean markets. National parks in the wooded areas of the foothills, ancient temples and tombs, famous hotsprings at Pugok, and ski resorts at Muju provide recreational activities within a single day’s travel. |

Courses in Korean economy, history, music, political relations and religion offer students the opportunity to + further their intellectual understanding and appreciation of Korea and its culture. Students also may take courses in international business, psychology, cross-cultural communication, Tae-Kwon-Do, and Korean dance and ceramics.

| |
The academic year of Keimyung University is divided into two 16-week semesters. The first semester begins in early March and ends in mid-June; the second semester begins in mid-August and ends in mid-December. Students may participate in the exchange program for one semester or the academic year. |
| |
|
| |
Type of Program |
| |
The exchange program is based on an agreement between Keimyung University and UNL for a reciprocal exchange of students. Exchange students pay program costs to their home institution and then swap places with students from the host institution. The number of students selected to participate in the exchange varies from year to year and depends on the balance of the exchange.
Credits earned at Keimyung are transferable to UNL by department validation. UNL students remain eligible for most scholarships and other forms of financial aid they normally receive. |
