The University Community |
| |
Just 90 minutes from Paris and 150km from the ocean, Poitiers has become a favorite site for the reception of companies in just a few years.
The Poitiers campus is located at the very center of the city, in a magnificent building which dates from the 18th century, and is particularly proud of its information library and multimedia room, both situated below the roof (which has the appearance of an upturned ship’s hull). Close to the shops and only 5 minutes from the railway station, it is served by several bus routes.
The college covers an area of almost 4,000 square meters. The 500 students have the very special advantage of 500 square meters set aside for the social life of the campus, the cybercafé and its patio. It is just a 3-minute walk to the university restaurant. |

Courses of Study |
| |
ESCEM develops projects that enable the students to become fully involved in field activities in partnership with large companies. The objective is to teach them to adopt a proactive approach and make them aware of the need to adapt to changes in the marketing and selling professions. The modules, market studies and sectoral studies make it possible to carry out a precise analysis of a given market.
ESCEM provides a solid general background on the economic and legal culture of companies so that students can see the opportunities or threats that they represent for their business sector. The economic section is geared to monitoring and understanding the economic news. The legal and fiscal section reflects the different facets of internaional company law. Its objective is to provide the basic knowledge which is vital to an understanding of the business world while at the same time enabling the students to become familiar with the various regulations they might come across at a European level. |

Living Arrangements |
| |
With the assistance of ESCEM and the CROUS (regional student organisation), students will locate their own accommodation. Choices range from halls of residence to private studios. The majority of rooms are fully furnished. |

Duration |
| |
The ESCEM core programme has 3 periods, or semesters, per academic year. Period 1, or Fall, runs from September to December, and includes a holiday break in early November, as well as a week of final exams in December. Period 2, or Spring, typically runs from January to May, with breaks in February and April, and exams in May. Period 3, or summer, runs from early June to late August. |

Type of Program |
| |
The exchange program is based on an agreement between ESCEM and UNL that allows a reciprocal exchange of students. Exchange students pay program costs to their home institution and then swap places with students from the host institution. The number of students selected to participate in the exchange varies from year to year and depends on the balance of the exchange.
Credits earned at ESCEM are transferable to UNL by department validation. UNL students remain eligible for most scholarships and other forms of financial aid that they normally receive. |
| |
|
| |
Am I eligible to apply? |
| |
Any UNL undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing is eligible to participate in the program at ESCEM. Serious students who will adapt readily to the local culture and who will benefit from living in a foreign country will be those selected for the exchange. |
