ISA was established so that indians at UNL may get
together, explore and share the rich, diverse Indian culture. ISA is a
non-profit organization and it organizes several fun events throughout the
year; where in, anyone who is interested, can attend or even take active
participation. It enables persons of Indian origin to enjoy such Indian
events as they might otherwise miss, and helps others to appreciate the
rich cultural heritage of India by raising awareness about the region.
About Us
The ISA (Indian Students
Association) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln consists of a small band
of tightly knit, ever helping and fun loving Indians. You will find all
shades of the spectrum among us - bookworms, freaks, morons, geniuses,
singles, couples... you name it! Though most of us are graduate students in
technical disciplines, we also have students from other disciplines. For a
complete list of the members, see the members section. All
Indian students are encouraged to be members. The membership can be
obtained for a nominal cost registering
yourself with ISA. You'll then recieve our newsletters and other ISA
event related information regularly thru our e-mail mailing list.
How does ISA work?
The ISA is
"governed" by volunteering students, who assume as the officers
to handle all the various activities and tasks. You too can be an officer!
If interested, please contact the current officers
expressing your interest for volunteering.
Where is the ISA?
Well,
the ISA doesn't have a single home yet. But, it looks like this website has
the potential for it! You can contact us for help, questions or even
advice.
The Web Site
This website operates on
the cwis web server; courtesy: University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This website
provides info to and about all menbers and officers of the Indian Students'
Association. It will keep notifing its activities and give out the
necessary information to its members. This website also provides useful information related to India, ranging
from -- Travel, Newsgroups, Recipes to Entertainment. It also intends to be
a great resource of information for the new students,
who can access this information prior to their travel, or after reaching
UNL. We also have a classifieds
section on this site to help students advertise and help each other (of
course, its free!). See
