Bio:
Michael Goff is a senior lecturer in advertising and advising coordinator in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. He rejoined the faculty in 2000 and has taught a variety of courses, including media history, advertising research and strategy, promotional writing and the art of writing.

In 2004 he received the college's Outstanding Faculty Service Award. In 2008 he received his 12th certificate of recognition from UNL's Parents Association and Teaching Council for service to students. In 1989 he received the campus-wide Student Foundation/Builder's Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Advising.

Prior to UNL, Goff worked for the Lincoln Star as a general assignment reporter and as a copywriter for Lloyd's Advertising, Omaha. He also taught high school journalism and English.

He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism education and a master's in educational administration, both from UNL. He also is working toward a Ph.D. in higher-ed administration.
