Three Eagles Lincoln News Department (KFOR) needs 2 interns
DEADLINE: August 30
Duties:
Monday-Friday: Prepare overnight news. Call news sources. File daily newscasts and audio. Monitor various emergency radios and cover emergency events (fire, police, etc). Cover regular evening news events, record and work up stories with audio for morning news. Clip newspaper articles for file. Transfer recorded weather forecasts for stations. Transfer overnight farm report for broadcast. (Two interns share the duties. Two or four hour shifts five nights M-F)
Saturday: File morning newscasts. Call news sources. Clip papers. File audio. Print and file news releases. Prepare afternoon newscasts and deliver on-air 1p-6p as needed (some are recorded). Prepare materials for Sunday news. Monitor various emergency radios. Cover emergency and planned events. Record weather casts for air. Prepare info sheet for Sunday AM news intern's use. (approx 5 hours, one intern 12p-5p)
Sunday: Prepare and air morning newscasts for KFOR (four newscasts). Clip papers. File releases and news materials. Call news sources and record actuality. File weekend news materials and audio. Monitor emergency radios and cover events. Record weather and afternoon newscasts. Prepare stories for Monday morning use. (Approximately 5 hours-one intern 4a-9a)
These are paid internships. Time period: First Semester 2007-08. Opportunity to continue second semester 2008 following acceptable evaluation.15 hours per week. Possible extra hours during vacations/school breaks. Interns must be willing to share/trade shifts as needed. Academic school year breaks taken into consideration but you are encouraged to work them as you can. SHIFTS MUST BE COVERED. No exceptions. We submit the best KFOR News materials for awards.
